One of these just came up for sale near me, and it's AWD. Supposedly 21/28 mpg, and apparently based off a Fiat. I can only think of how difficult parts would be to get...

I’ve heard they’re pretty nifty. But yeah, you’d be fucked for parts.

I almost looked at one...then didn’t/

My mom actually owns one, we bought it 2 (maybe 3) years ago. Haven’t had anything go wrong with it outside of a Suzuki airbag recall. The one we have is FWD only (dont kill me oppo), she gets 22mpg on average with mostly city driving.

That's what I figured. Curse my common sense and practicality!

I always thought the Fiat Sedici was based off the Suzuki.. But considering Suzuki isn’t in the US anymore, parts could be hard to find..

Plot twist, you had one all along!

You could do worse. You could be driving a ‘08 pt cruiser and be proud of it, *looks in mirror*.

Well, just never never break it.
Or just order parts from Japan.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:38 |

And fiat is new here, so only parts for newer cars.

ha..in all honesty it’s not a bad car. Quite comfy, not as comfy as my TL but not bad overall. Luggage space is a little bit of a pain seeing how the back seats don’t fold flat.

I dig it. It’s like a Suzuki Swift estate.

Get this, it’s s ‘08, near $10k, with 32k miles! Who hasnt been driving it ?!?!?! So too much.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:41 |

Other way around. The Fiat is based off this. If it’s a manual, you should totally get it. Modern Wagovan anyone? I mean, duh.

BURN IT WITH FIRE

I’ve always loved these. Kind of like a scale model ML-class. FYI the AWD is heavily front-biased, something like 100-0 in typical driving and up to 70-30 in wheel-slip situations.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:47 |

They’re nice cars in my opinion.I quite like them.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:47 |

Or it was owned by a grandma who babied it.
I mean, in the end, its all a crapshoot. You could buy a same-year Corolla that’s never had an oil change. Or you could buy an early ‘00s Golf that has somehow managed to dodge all the crazy electrical problems. I’m watching fellow Patriot/Compass owners replacing ball joints every 40k miles, and now that I’m at 110k, my first driver-side one is just starting to go.
You never really know.
Unless its a Ferrari, then you’ll most likely end up with a single-use, roadside barbecue.

Short wheel base + awd = fun
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:53 |

Is it? Still, parts would be hard to find, :/. And it's a auto.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:54 |

I quite like them, and they’re genuinely good on loose or slippy roads. I have no idea about US parts supply though, but Fiat really don’t suck as much as they used to.

FWD?!?!!?
DRAW AND QUARTER THE HERETIC!

It will get quite annoying having to go on the international market each time something breaks. Parts are made, but not sure on the availibility.

as all the question I had a 2010 till i crashed it in February.
I never loved a car as much as i loved my sx4. I crashed it and the family outgrew it.
Fun, very fun little car. Harder on gas than what the sticker says.
I miss mine
![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:55 |

I mean, they can’t be too bad... people are taking them offroad.
I saw a an SX4 build thread awhile back where a guy lifted his, put a fold-out tent on the roof rack, added a small home-made cargo trailer, and he takes it all over the place.

Looked at one to replace a 1st gen rav4, then I drove it and was all.

![]() 06/19/2015 at 16:58 |

all depends on the year. 5 speed manual 2006-2009 6speed man 2010-2013
auto became a CVT since 2010
140 hp 2006-2009, 150 hp vvt 2010-2013
the AWD has a smaller gas tank then the non awd. 5 liters less.

eBay and rock auto :)
![]() 06/19/2015 at 17:04 |

Fiat and suzuki buit them together, it was designed by Fiat, the awd system is all suzuki, and the fiat could be had with a fiat diesel.
I consider myself the SX4 expert here. I had mine for 5 years less one month, R.I.P

you can find parts at any auto parts store. just not at a dealer, but why would anyone want to pay 2-3 times the price for parts at the dealer
![]() 06/19/2015 at 17:06 |
|
you can lock it in 50-50 mode at low speeds.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 17:08 |

As a dude who works at an auto parts store, we might not have some parts. Yeah, we might have the vast majority, but not everything. For example, suspension components may be hard to come by, since I’ve noticed that those tend to be the most “call the supplier, since we don’t have a part number” type of parts.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 17:10 |

Well, if that's the case, just bring stuff for smores on every ride.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 17:10 |

Ah okay. We got the Suzuki first here for some reason, so that might be why I got that impression. Think I’ve only seen one Fiat version ever.
![]() 06/19/2015 at 17:12 |

Can I still drive it while on fire? That seems fun.

I think you misspelled awesome choice:
Great car, seriously. And Suzuki still has an infrastructure for parts, so you should be good for the next 5-10 years.

From what I’ve heard, Suzukis have good reliability. I’d still check ....

I had one of these as a company car (only for a couple of weeks, I got a Swift after that) with FWD and the 1.5 petrol. Not bad at all.

These are honestly great little cars, and paved the way for the CX-3, HR-V, Juke, Encore/Trax, Renegade, etc. Fiat’s Sedici is actually the SX4 with a different grille; Fiat merely co-developed (read: Paid for a large portion) the cars. The name is a homage to the AMC Eagle SX4, the sedan and wagon with available 4WD.
Get it if you can. They’re a good little car, same with the Kizashi.

my 19YO neighbor has one and it's a stick. he's had no issues at all

I don’t think it will be too bad. My dad has a Forenza which was sold here in just as limited quantities, and it hasn’t been an issue. No idea how the autos are, but my dad’s 5 speed holds up pretty well.

It’s got like a 9 gallon gas tank.
![]() 06/20/2015 at 11:15 |

Wow, that's bad. My pt has a 15 gal, and I fill up every other day.

I’d rock one. Suzuki is generally under appreciated. Then I’d put the Fiat grill and badges on it... for the lulz.
